Michael Jay Sawyer
Age 56, of East Sparta, died Thursday December 30, 2010 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born August 15, 1954 in Canton to the late J.B. and Nannie Lou (McLure) Sawyer. Michael was a life resident of the Canton South area and a 1973 graduate of Canton South High School. He was an independent contractor for the U.S. Postal Service for 17 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, John Bartley Sawyer. He is survived his wife, Marie L. (Borne) to whom he was married 28 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Michelle Sawyer of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Jerry Ulm of Canton; two grandchildren, Jared Ulm and Chans Walker; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Shirley Sawyer of East Sparta; three cousins, Tim Sawyer, Charlie Sawyer and Kathy Vance. Funeral services will be Tuesday January 4, 2011 at 2:30pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery.
