Michael P. Dunn
Age 57, of Canton died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 after a long and brave fight with cancer. Born April 21, 1954 in Canton, Ohio. He graduated from Timken High School and was employed as a long standing member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local #18. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Dunn. Survived by his loving wife Nancy; brothers, Dan (Nancy), John, Vincent and his partner, Jeff and Albert; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Rosemary Schott; sisters-in-law, Jane (Mike) Viront, Linda Hintz, Julie Schott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including favorites, Renee Patrick and Mike Zengler; so many friends including his "Fletcher Flubs" and sweet Kathleen and Richard Reed and Judy Vetrone. Mike "Candy Man" was always so giving of himself volunteering in spite of his illness and touched so many lives, always positive and encouraging. The family would like to thank our great Dr. Dina Rooney and her fantastic staff at Tri County Hematology and Oncology, the 8 Main staff at Mercy Medical Center, the outpatient oncology clinic, radiation therapy and friends from Mercy Hospice. A celebration of Mike's life will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3741 Fohl St. S.W., Canton, OH. 44706. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mercy Hospice, Fellowship Baptist Church or perform a random act of kindness.
