Melvin K. Teis
Age 90, of Canton, passed away Sunday March 20, 2016 in Aultman Compassionate Care. He was born February 3, 1926 In Canton. Melvin was a life resident of the Stark County area and a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired from Canton Wholesale Floral in 1996 after 46 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #44, Canton Hall of Fame Chapter of the Navy Armed Guard and Merchant Marine, and the Canton South AARP. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy M. and Ida E. (Richards) Teis; one brother, Donald Teis and five sisters. Melvin is survived by his wife, Betty M. (Betz) to whom he was married 68 years; six children and their spouses, David and Jane Teis, Dale and Candice Teis, Darlene Green, Dean Teis, Denette and Bob Edwards, Darren Teis and his fiancé, Penny Kerns; six grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Kristy, Jonathan (Krissy), Trisha (David) and Melissa (fiancé, Brandon); seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Joe, John Thomas, Conner, Emma, Addison and Blake; two sisters, Lottie Sponseller and Evelyn Hoffman. Funeral services will be Thursday March 24, 2016 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery with military honors. Friends will be received Wednesday 5-8pm and one hour before services on Thursday (10-11am). The family requests memorial donations be made to the Earl Bailey Ministries at P.O.
