Maurice Ralph Rodocker, age 93, of Navarre, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in East Sparta, OH. to the late Melvin and Catherine (Carver) Rodocker, and was a life resident of the Canton area. Maurice retired from the Timken Co. in 1972 after 34 years service, life member of the VFW Floyd Hughes Post #693; former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #233 Canton. Member of Horse Shoe Pitchers Assoc., Rubber City Harmonica Club & S.P.A.H.; He was an avid Harmonica player and enjoyed entertaining others. A WWII Army veteran having served in the Atlantic Theatre, where he received the Purple Heart and the Freedom medal from the French Government, for his service in Normandy. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Marquerite E. Rodocker in 1957; brother, Adrian Rodocker, and step-son, H. Bruce Ramsay. He is survived by his wife, Alice J. (Johnson) Rodocker whom he was married 26 years; three sons and daughter-in-law: Roger & Shari Rodocker of Canton, Bruce Rodocker of Columbus, Gordon Rodocker of Massillon; step-daughter, Melanie K. Dower of Florida; three granddaughters, Renae Snyder, Brandee Monroe, Robyn Rodocker; four great-grandchildren, Silas, Caroline& Jack Henry Snyder, Nash Monroe; one brother, Fremont Rodocker of Phoenix, AZ; a niece, Joyce Selby of Canton; a nephew Marvin Rodocker of Canton. Funeral Service will be at 10:00am Saturday, February 4, 2006 in the Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Paul Gerycz officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
