Maurice R. “Ross” Gibson
Age 71, of Somerdale, OH passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 4, 2018 in Union Hospital. He was born August 30, 1946 in Canton to the late Claude and Janis (Vance) Gibson. Ross was a 1964 graduate of Midvale High School and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran having served two deployments. He retired as a truck driver after 45 years of service and was a member of Somerdale Maranatha Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Lloyd “Bud” Shreffler; one brother, Terry Shreffler. Ross is survived by his wife, Dawn (McGuyrt) Gibson to whom he was married 19 years; one son, John “Jody” Gibson; one daughter, Sherri (Tom) Arnold; three grandchildren, Spencer, Kaylie and Matthew; one foster son, Donald Reese; three brothers, Tim (Joy) Badertscher, Randy Shreffler and Bruce (Beth) Gibson; one sister, Anita Gibson; nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dean Ball, John Infield and David Moore; his canine companion, Gracie. A private family committal service will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. There will be no public services.
