Mary Louise (Rand) Schmucker
Age 87, was received into glory by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday January 28, 2014. She was born December 11, 1926, in Dennison, OH to the late William and Barbara Boyd. Louise graduated from Middlebranch High School in 1944 and remained friends with her classmates her entire life. She was a member of Eden Church of the Brethren and her life love was to serve the Lord. She attended Bliss Business College in Columbus, OH and worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base during WWII. At the war's end she returned to Canton where in 1946 she married her school sweetheart, Paul E. Rand. They were loving parents to two fine sons, William and Michael Rand as well faithful members of Eden Church. Married for 25 years, they managed Boyd's Market from 1951 to 1971. Following Paul's death in 1971, Louise owned and managed Richmond Park and cared for her mother-in-law and her parents until their passing. In 1978 she married Nelson E. Schmucker. Together, during their 18 years of marriage, they managed Richmond Manufactured Home Park, cared for his mother, enjoyed traveling, and hosted countless family gatherings until his death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by sisters Marie Boyd Clemens and Charlotte Schneck. A woman of enduring faith, great strength, and loving tenderness, Louise leaves to honor her memory her sons William (Rebecca), their daughter Sarah of Lakewood, OH, Michael (Kyong Ye) of Louisville, OH, with whom she made her home, their daughters Kimberlynn, Melissa and great-granddaughter Allie Jane Sewell all of Hawaii. Also surviving are step-children Barbara (Ted) Schroeder, their son Aaron all of Hilton Head Island, SC, David (Kim) Schmucker, their daughters Ellory and Hannah all of Hilton Head, and Steven Schmucker and his children Nicholas and Samantha of Hillard, OH. Funeral services will be Tuesday February 4, 2014 at 10:00am in Eden Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jeff Ellsworth and Pastor William Mitchell officiating. Interment in Union Lawn Cemetery, Navarre. Friends may call Monday 5-7pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Eden Church of the Brethren at 4437 Richville Dr., Canton, OH 44706.
