Mary J. Reed
Age 79, of East Canton, passed away Tuesday October 21, 2014 in St. Joseph Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born December 16, 1934 in Canton to the late John and Edna (Spoon) Nimon. Mary was a life resident of East Canton and a 1952 graduate of East Canton High School. She was a member of Indian Run Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Reed in 1988; four brothers, Charles, John, James and Adrian Nimon. Mary is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Shiplett of Minerva, Darlie and Joe Owens of Magnolia and Susan Reed of Louisville; one son and companion, Randy Reed and Jay Anderson of East Canton; three grandchildren, Matthew Owens (Christy Childres), Jeffrey (Anny) Owens and Tanya Shiplett; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Lou Nimon of Houston, TX. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Care Center for their wonderful care and compassion. Funeral services will be Saturday October 25, 2014 at 10:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Mark Black officiating. Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 5-8pm in the funeral home and one hour before services on Saturday (9-10am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Care Center, Louisville.
