Mary Ruth Gorbey
Mary Ruth Gorbey, age 87, of Canton, passed away Wednesday September 3, 2008 in Rose Lane Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born August 19, 1921 in Farmington, WV, to the late George and Nola (Martin) Monroe. Mary was a Canton area resident since 1970 and was formerly employed by the Ohio Power Company, T. K. Harris and Central Trust Bank. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Spencer I. Johnson, Beryl E. Freeman and Mike B. Gorbey; one son, Marshall E. Monroe; one daughter, Nola Thompson; two grandsons and one great granddaughter. She is survived by four children, Ruth Willie, Naomi Meziere, Sandra Mullins and Charles Johnson; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday September 8, 2008 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Tony Amerine officiating. Interment in Bergholz Cemetery.
