Mary R. Brumby
age 89, of Canton, passed away Saturday July 25, 2009. She was born January 4, 1920 in New London, Ohio to the late Stanley E. and Mary A. (Tindale) Kirkpatrick. Mary was a Canton Township resident for the past 59 years and a graduate of New London High School. She was formerly employed by C.E. Ward Company in New London, OH. Mary was a member of Moreland Christian Church where throughout her 57 years of attendance she served as pianist, choir member, junior choir director and was active with the Joy Circle. She had accompanied the Mother Singers Local Group, volunteered at Canton Local Schools as a musical accompanist with the ensembles and musical productions. Mary was always a willing volunteer in her community and with many charitable organizations. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and John R. "Skype" Kirkpatrick; one nephew, Jimmy Kirkpatrick. She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Brumby to whom she was married 62 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Hal D. and Carla Brumby of Kent, OH; one daughter and son-in-law, Faye R. and Thomas Hollinger of St. Albans, WV; five grandchildren, Cara (Steven) Setchell of Greencastle, IN, Jennifer Brumby of Centerville, OH, Adam Brumby of Ft. Myers, FL, Jordan Hollinger of Wilmore, KY, Jared Hollinger of St. Albans, WV; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert E. "Chappie" and Marjorie Kirkpatrick, Harold D. and Lillian Kirkpatrick all of New London, OH; seven nieces and nephews, Marcia Schnabel, Tony Kirkpatrick, Mary Linda Swinehart, John Kirkpatrick, Ellen Simmons, Roger Kirkpatrick and Andrew Kirkpatrick. Funeral services will be Tuesday July 28, 2009 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Gene Carter officiating. Friends may call Monday 6-8pm and one hour before services on Tuesday (12-1pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Moreland Christian Church.
