Martin Momirov
Age 91, of Canton, passed away Monday January 10, 2011 in Legends Care Center following a brief illness. He was born July 4, 1919 in McKeesport, PA to the late Panta and Elizabeth (Todar) Momirov. Martin was a Canton area resident since 1928 and a WWII Army Air Corps veteran having served in the 926th Signal Battalion. He retired from Timken Roller Bearing in 1974 after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the United Steel Workers Union Local #1123. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, George and Paul Momirov; one sister, Olga Snyder. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Whelan) to whom he was married 65 years; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Norman Janecek of East Canton, Judith Momirov of Cambridge, OH; one granddaughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Janecek-Huston of Louisville; three great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kayla Janecek, Bella Huston. In keeping with Martin's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will be conducted. The Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton is handling the arrangements.
