Martha E. Eckelberry
Age 87, of Canton, passed away Saturday October 29, 2011 in Canterbury Villa of Alliance. She was born February 26, 1924 in Beloit, OH to the late Gottleib and Margaret (Waffler) Gobeli. Martha was a Canton area resident most of her life and a 1941 graduate of East Canton High School. She was a member of the East Canton Church of God where she was active with the Women of the Church of God for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by seven brothers, Walter, Albert, Karl, John, Ernest, Oscar and Arnold Gobeli. She is survived by her husband, Earl A. Eckelberry to whom she was married 69 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Susan Eckelberry of Canton; one daughter, Gloria M. McLaughlin of Salem, OH; three grandsons, Daniel Dickerhoof of Homeworth, Douglas Dickerhoof of Salem, Ethan Eckelberry of Canton; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Gobeli of East Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Carl Cozy of Louisville. Funeral services will be Tuesday November 1, 2011 at 1:00pm in the East Canton Church of God with Pastor Michael D. Jones officiating. Interment in West Beech Cemetery.
