Marlen A. Slatzer
Age 84, of North Canton died Friday, September 12, 2014 in his home following an extended illness. Born May 29, 1930 in Shawnee, OH. to the late Frank and Laura (Cotterman) Slatzer. He was a Canton area resident most of his life and retired from Rohr and Sons Nursery. Marlen was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie#2370 and the Father and Son Sportsman's Club. Preceded in death by his wife, Arline Slatzer in 1994; one brother, Delmar Slatzer; two sisters, Donna Price and Onalee Schrott. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Dave Ross of Canton, Debbie and Kenneth Carman of Massillon, Sandy Calhoun of North Canton, Cheryl Hoagland of South Carolina; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Debby Slatzer of Canton; one son-in-law, Tim Calhoun of Canton; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Ted Russell officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 pm.
