Mark J. Criswell
A child of God, age 56, of East Sparta, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 8, 2013 in his home. He was born October 4, 1956 in Canton to the late Robert D. "Sonny" and Helen E. (Wojtaszek) Criswell. He was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1974 graduate of Canton South High School. Mark was a self-employed landscaper and employed by Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes. Mark attended Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was recently appointed to the church council; member of Amvets Post #124 and a former member of the Canton South Men's golf league. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Cairns. Mark loved his wife and his son, whom he adored and cherished above all else. He is survived by his wife, Kris A. (Cairns) with whom he shared 35 years; one son, Adam Criswell; mother-in-law, Dolly Cairns of East Sparta; siblings, Bob and Marty Cairns, Craig and Mary Cairns, Mary Kay and Mike Jezewski; five nieces and nephews, Eric (Abby), Steven (Sarah), Hannah, Brian (Kyleigh) and Sarah. Funeral services will be Monday February 11, 2013 at 11:00am in Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. L. Scott Bacon officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 1-4pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services on Monday at the church (10-11am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church at 3828 Cleveland Ave SE., Canton, OH 44707.
