Marjorie Shafer
Marjorie Shafer, age 83, of Canton, passed away Friday June 20, 2008 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born April 4, 1925 in Clarington, OH, to the late John and Eva (Ault) Schilling. She was a Malvern, East Canton and Canton area resident for the past 33 years. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing bingo and working puzzles at St. Paul's Senior Center. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians with her companion, Roy Howell. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Shafer in 1994. She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Neil) Battista of Plain Township; three sons, Richard (Maria) Ady of Canton, Daniel (Judy) Ady of Malvern, Don (Sandy) Ady of Canton; three step-daughters, Hazel White of Florida, Joan Boone of Malvern, Louise Carbenia of Waynesburg; two step-sons, Richard (Ruby) Shafer of Saline, MI, Charles Gerald (Sharon) Shafer of Navarre; 12 grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 24, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call on hour before services on Tuesday (12-1pm). It was Marge's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to assist her granddaughter, Christina Battista, to help defer medical expenses from her recent Islet Cell Transplant and Pancreatectomy surgeries.
