Marion D. Crawford
Marion D. "High Pockets" Crawford, age 90, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday June 30, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born December 1, 1917 in Elkins, WV, to the late Dale W. and Belva L. (Yokum) Crawford. Marion was a Waynesburg resident since 1978 and a member of First Christian Church of Malvern. He retired from The Timken Company in 1978 after 18 years of service and was formerly employed by the E.W. Bliss Company and Cass Lumber. Marion enjoyed fishing, gardening, detailing his car and loved playing the guitar. His favorite time of the year was Christmas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-mother, Ethel Crawford; two sons, Chuck and Neale Crawford; four sisters and an infant brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Lona M. (Shreve) to whom he was married 72 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jody McNeely of Malvern; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pauline Moore of Portsmouth, VA, Dottie and Warren "Mac" McGuigan of Florida; three daughters-in-law, Shirley Crawford of Minerva, Pat Dragomire of Perry Township, Sue Fletcher of Butler, PA; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday July 3, 2008 at 11:00am in the First Christian Church of Malvern with Eric Crites officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday (tonight) 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour before services at the church (10-11am).
