Marilyn J. Peters, age 94, of Canton, died at her home at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2022.
She was born July 15, 1928 in Twinsburg, Ohio to Homer S. and Mabel M. (Bonner) Stocker.
Marilyn was formerly employed by Nationwide Insurance and served on the Wage Stabilization Board for the U.S. Federal Government.
She loved her family, and as a member of North Industry United Methodist Church, she was active with the quilting group, church bereavement committee, and UMW.
Marilyn was a former Cub Scout Den Mother, member of Fleet Rescue Women’s Auxiliary Association, Canton South AARP, and volunteer with the Canton Local School Reading Program.
Survivors include son, Brian and Yoko Peters; daughter, Melinda and Russell Luyster; granddaughter Victoria and Daniel Sinclair; two great-granddaughters, Payton and Abigail Sinclair, and brother, John F. and Irene Stocker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ivor C. Peters, who passed away in 2016; and her brother, Homer L. Stocker.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the North Industry United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeri K. Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens directly after the service.
