Marie Woit
Marie Woit, age 85, of Canton, passed away January 17, 2008 in St. Luke Lutheran Community. She was born October 1, 1922 in Canton, to the late Sam and Loretta (Lombardi) Caringi. Marie was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1940 graduate of McKinley High School. She was the co-owner/operator, with her husband, of Canton Building and Foundation Co., retiring in 1980. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Canton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Cast; her husband, Robert J. Woit in 2001; three brothers, Valentine and Frank Caringi, Henry Caring; one sister, Violet DeFine. Marie is survived by one daughter, Linda M. Woit of Canton; three sisters, Joan Angelo and Erma DeFrank both of Canton, Helen Kiefer of Huntsville, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service will be conducted in the First Lutheran Church with Rev. George Keeler officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. The Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, East Canton, is handling arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke Lutheran Community for their wonderful care.
