Marie A. Johnson
Marie A. Johnson, age 81, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 15, 2008 following a brief illness. Born June 19, 1927 in North Carolina to the late Filson and Ollie Oakes. She was a Canton area resident most of her life and was employed as a nurse for a number of years. Marie was a loving mother, grandmother and was a very special person. Preceded in death by her husband Earnest M. "Jake" Johnson in 2006; three sisters and two brothers. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joe Hoiles of Canton; one grandson, Christopher Szakacs of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Friday October 17, 2008 at 1:00 pm in Melscheimer Cemetery with Pastor Michael Knibbs officiating. Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
