Marie D. Bigler
Age 98, of East Canton, passed away Saturday June 6, 2015 in her daughters home following a brief illness. She was born May 24, 1917 in Mapleton to the late Junius and Maude (Mottice) Barrick. Marie was a life resident of East Canton and a member of the former Broadway Neighbors Club. She was a member of Indian Run Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and active with the former Dorcas Circle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Bigler in 1978; one son, Jerry Bigler; three sisters, Gladys Clapper, Zenella Lane and Thelma Truax; six brothers, Guy, Glenwood, Russell, Earl, Carl and Robert Barrick. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Gary Johnson of East Canton; five grandchildren, Leslie, Randy, David, Scott and Wendi; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Friday June 12, 2015 at 11:00am in the Indian Run Christian Church with Pastor Terry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour before services on Friday at the church (10-11am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Indian Run Christian Church children's program.
