Margaret A. Lattavo
Age 71, of East Canton, passed away Monday December 5, 2022 in the Cleveland Clinic. She was born September 15, 1951 in Canton to the late William B. and Edna M. (Fahrni) Reed. Margaret was a 1969 graduate of East Canton High School. She retired from Osnaburg Local Schools in 2011 and formerly served on the Osnaburg Township Board of Zoning Appeals. She was a member of the Louisville Christian Church where she assisted with the adult Bible study and with the church bereavement dinners. She was a member of the Friends of the Stark County Library, but her true love and dedication was to her family. Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Paul E. Lattavo to whom she was married 51 years; two children, Anthony (Jennifer) Lattavo and Monica Wiles; four grandchildren whom she adored, Rosella, Emmet, Maxwell Lattavo and Bradley Wiles; six siblings, Dian Ornowski, Brenda (Lee) Fuller, Debra (James) Frey, Dina (Pete) Vliet, Scott B. and Mark W. Reed; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Margaret shared her love of reading with her children and grandchildren. She sought beautiful children’s books to read and give to them, but read-aloud time together was the most fun. Her dramatic voice inflection while reading made wide-eyed grandchildren smile as they snuggled at her side. As the grandchildren grew and became independent readers, they began to enjoy book clubs together with her. She greatly enjoyed word puzzles and beach trips, and she was known for her ability to identify birds and seashells. She was also a strong promoter of good dental hygiene, and every child and grandchild could expect gifts of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss at Christmas time. Another joy of hers was watching a good Hallmark movie in the evening before bedtime.
Funeral services will be Friday December 9, 2022 at 1:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Dale Boston officiating. The burial will be in Mapleton Cemetery.
