Margaret Imogene Holbert
Margaret Imogene Holbert was a good mother, grandmother and neighbor. She loved this country and the American flag. She loved planting trees, watching birds, and seeing deer at her apple tree. She designed quilts, won blue ribbons at the fair, baked biscuits, and told family stories. Her strength, humor and kindness touched many lives. Born October 9, 1934 in Cotton Tree Hollow in Walton, West Virginia, Margaret Imogene Norman lived with her grandparents and other relatives until her marriage in 1951. Then, as Margaret Holbert, she lived in Charleston, West Virginia, Canton, Ohio and finally near East Canton for 52 years. She quietly passed in her home with family Sunday, September 19, 2010. Her family and home always came first. She worked as a nurse's aide then retired from the Timken Co. after 25 years. As a control inspector, she made parts for the Apollo moon landing. She was proud to be a steelworker. She will be missed by her family: Sandy Holbert and Leon Panning, Cheryl and Jimmy Lovejoy, Kenny and Georgia Holbert, Jamie Lovejoy, Josh and Jill Lovejoy, Larry Harper and Sandy Cain; also by Justin and Logan McCauley; the Norman family; her little black dog, Toby made her smile. Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Holley; her husband, Owens D. Holbert; parents, Dessie Harper Norman and Francis Norman; grandparents, Frances Ann Fanny Harper and William Edward Harper. Thank you Jon Cross, Rodney Cross and Larry Bonam for seeing Mom Home. Thank you Community Hospice. Thank you our neighbors and friends. Private family services will be at the Sanders Funeral Home, East Canton, OH. She will be at rest with her family in Robertsville Cemetery, Robertsville, OH. Condolences or fond memories may be shared online at www.sandersfuneralhomes.com.
