Mathews, Mabel E.
age 90, of Canton, passed away Sunday April 19, 2009 in Aultman Hospital. She was born December 8, 1918 to the late George and Esther (Claar) Hoagland in Bedford, PA. Mabel was a Canton area resident for the past 60 years and a member of the Buckeye Country Music Association. She was a 60 year member of the Canton Baptist Temple where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for 30 years; she was active with the Jolly Sixties and the Ambassador Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Merle Bloom; 2nd husband, Lloyd Mathews; one son, George Bloom and one infant son; two sisters, Mildred Neville and Evelyn Barnhouse; three brothers, Glen, Richard and Harold Hoagland. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn ( Joe) Aquilo; two grandchildren, George (Angie) Riddle, Rhonda Hobdy; three great-grandchildren, William and Jordan Riddle, Miranda Hobdy; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Bloom. Funeral services will be Thursday April 23, 2009 at 10:00am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with David Harmon officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
