Mabel R. Weaver Halter

Age 104, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Monday April 9, 2018 in the Canton Christian Home. She was born October 8, 1913 in Robertsville, OH to the late Warren and Elta (Starkey) Matz. She was a 1931 graduate of Minerva High School and retired from K-Mart in 1974. Mabel was a member of East Sparta Christian Church where she was active in the choir; member of AARP and Pike Grange for many years. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Weaver in 1966; second husband, Earl Halter in 1996; one son, Tom Weaver; infant son, Fred Leroy Weaver; two brothers, Earl and Carl Matz; two sisters, Nova Matz and Edna Sluss. Mabel is survived by one daughter, Jeanne (Tom) Kehner; daughter-in-law, Connie Weaver; four grandchildren, Eric (Jodee) Weaver, James and Susan Kehner and Kelly (Jake) Gamber; two step-daughters, Donna Walpole and Carol Toms; five great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday April 13, 2018 at 11:00am in the Canton Christian Home with Chaplain Bill Moody officiating. Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery at 2:30pm. Friends and family will be received one hour before services on Friday (10-11am).
