Louise E. Davis, age 89, formerly of East Canton, died Wednesday, December 13, 2005 in Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, OH. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother. Louise was born April 18, 1916 in Westchester, NY. to the late Frank and Mary (Cheis) Daros. She was a graduate of Croton Falls High School, Croton, NY., and Westchester School of Nursing where she served as Director of Student Nursing. She was a resident of East Canton since 1940, where she supported her beloved late husband, E. Joel Davis MD, in his medical practice for 39 years. Louise will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a lovely lady, who always had a smile and a good word for those she met, loved her family above all, striving to perform her duties as wife, mother and servant to God. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women's Society, former treasurer of the Missions Group, and was Mt. Tabor Woman of the Year. Member of Stark County Medical Auxiliary where she served as a former officer, charter member of the Women's Advisory Board at Malone College, and a charter member of the Stark County Historical Society where she taught Human Growth and Development for 13 years. In 1994 she was honored as the East Canton Citizen of the Year. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, E. Joel Davis MD in 1986. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia McGregor of Lake Worth, FL., Susan and Gary Watson of Hemphill, TX., Kathleen and Earl Hopkins of Paris, OH; two grandchildren, Edward McGregor and Anne Reid both of Lake Worth, FL.; five great grandchildren, Kristen, John and Melissa Reid, Andrew, Kyle, Christian and Nicholas McGregor; one sister, Flora Smyth of San Jose, CA. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00am in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard K. Thewlis officiating. Entombment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 4-7pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services at the church on Friday (10-11:00am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church at 108 E. Walnut St, East Canton, OH 44730.
