Loretta E. Tressel
Loretta E. Tressel, age 87, of Canton, died Thursday, November 17, 2005 in Hennis Care Center. She was born, March 21, 1918 in Navarre to the late John E. and Ginevra (Whitmire) Thompson. Loretta was a life resident of the Stark County area, a 1936 graduate of Navarre High School and retired in 1978 from Canton Local Schools as Food Service Director. Member of North Industry Christian Church where she was active with the Gleaners Class and the Leisurelees , Otterbein Church Sociable Sixties, Perry AARP #2898 and the Greater Canton Retirees. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Tressel on August 12, 1986; one sister, Helen Evans; one brother, Harold Thompson. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Margie and William Groves of Navarre; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Nancy Tressel of Navarre; five grandchildren and their spouses, Troy and Carol Tressel of Navarre, Timothy and Sue Tressel of Luckey, OH, Carla and Greg Ford of Grand Rapids, MI, Gayle and Greg Harrold of North Lawrence, Greg and Bobbi Groves of Navarre; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother Lester Thompson of Navarre. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00am in the North Industry Christian Church with Stephen Kimbrel officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday 2-5pm in Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour before services at the church (10-11:00am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to North Industry Christian Church at 425 45th St SW, Canton, OH 44706 or Hospice of Tuscarawas County at 201 W. Third St, Dover, OH 44622.
