Lonnie M. Hamill
Age 87, of East Sparta died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born August 30, 1929 in Oakland, Maryland to the late Alvin and Florence (Baker) Hamill. He was an East Sparta resident since 1965 and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He retired from the Timken Company in 1982 with 31 years of service. Lonnie was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline Hamill. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Virginia L. (Cannon) Hamill; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Alan Walton of East Sparta; one granddaughter and spouse, Stephanie and John Grindel of Canton; two great granddaughters, Jasmyne and Skyla Grindel; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 – 8 pm.
