Lois L. Wells
Age 97, of Canton died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the Canton Christian Home following a brief illness. Born June 14, 1912 in Columbus, OH. to the late Robert C. and Eunice (Malson) Lawrence. Lois was a graduate of Spring Arbor High School, Spring Arbor, MI. and Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She was a Canton resident since 1954 and retired from Canton Local Schools in 1979 where she was a teacher at Waco Elementary School with 21 years of service. Member of Stark County Retired Teachers and Epworth United Methodist Church in Waco, OH. where she was active with the United Methodist Women and the Canton District of United Methodist Women. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard C. Wells in 1997; three brothers and three sisters. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Carl Dazey of Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sheila Wells of Navarre; four grandchildren and spouses, Lynette and Scott Burnside of Kentucky, Christopher Dazey of Portland, OR., Gregory Wells of Las Vegas, NV., Amy and Chris Fink of Canton; two step-great grandchildren, Russell and Jessica Fink of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, April 2, 2010 at 11:00 am in Epworth United Methodist Church, 2150 17th St. S.E., Canton, OH. 44707, with Rev. Carolyn Nichols officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church from 10-11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church or Canton Christian Home.
