Lloyd R. Dunham
Age 86, of Canton passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Inn at Belden Village where he resided. Born May 24, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to the late James R. and Beatrice (Duffy) Dunham. He lived in Perry Township for 54 years before moving to the Inn at Belden Village in 2014. Lloyd attended Timken Sr. High School but left high school to continue his education and proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy. After traveling the world and serving his country, he returned home to employment at the Timken Company. After 35 years of service he retired from the Timken Co. in 1985 as a General Supervisor in the steel mill. He was a former member of the Sons of Herman, McKinley Eagles Aerie No. 2370, The Moose Lodge, VFW Post 3747, American Bowling Congress and The Skeeter Beeters Camping Club. He loved to watch his kids and grandkids play sports. He never missed a game, sporting his shirt and cap for whichever team he was watching. Lloyd loved traveling and fishing on his boat for walleye on Lake Erie. He was an avid hunter, camper, fisherman, bowler and card player. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis (Shonk) Dunham; four brothers, Raymond, Hershall, Billy and Dale Dunham; two sisters, Deloris Ervin and Wanda Payne; a son-in-law, Gary Grosenbaugh. He is survived by his four loving children, Diane (Doug) Thewes of Perry Twp, Debra (Ralph) Winters of South Carolina, Donna (Paul) McKenzie of Perry Twp and Don (Leisa) Dunham of Magnolia; six adoring grandchildren, Tami (Jeremy) McKinley, Brittany (Victor) Davis, Michael (Renee) Thewes, Brandi (Ryan) Carman, Devon Winters and Leah Dunham; four great grandchildren, Cody, Peyton, Cooper and Sophia; one sister, Mary (Mike) Kerkmann; one sister-in-law, Jean Dunham; many nieces and nephews. We will miss you every single day, but we are relieved that you are finally released from the grips of this horrible disease. Rest now, dad. Free of confusion, with a clear mind and happy heart. Mom has been waiting for you with open arms. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at The Inn at Belden Village for their kindness, compassion and exceptional care of our loved ones. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Dr Marsh and the Aultman Hospice Team for their care and compassion with our mother and father. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb 14, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Pastor M. Dana Gammill officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 5 – 8 pm.
