Linda C. Thomas, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Gables of Canton. Born on September 25, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, Linda was the daughter of the late Samual and Katherine (Larson) Abrigg. Linda remained a lifelong resident of the Canton community, her life was a testament to faith, compassion, and helping others.
Linda was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Her career as a nursing assistant at St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville reflected her deep desire to help others, and she touched countless lives with her gentle care and kind heart. She was also a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Louisville Aerie #2374, where she fostered lasting friendships.
Above all, Linda treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother finding her greatest happiness in the company of her family. Her warmth, laughter, and unconditional love created cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those she held dear.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry R. Thomas, who passed away in 2008; her parents; brothers Mark, Ronnie, and Tim Abrigg; sisters Rosemary Sechrist, Patricia Thewes, Joanna Parks, and Peggy Eslich; and her son-in-law Dieter Hicks.
Her memories will be treasured by her daughters Julianne Hicks and Katherine (James) Bradfield; stepson Dr. Jerry R. Thomas II; her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her sister Carolyn (Jim) Peterson; and her sister-in-law Cathy Abrigg and Bonnie Abrigg.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Church of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1835 Dover Zoar Rd NE, Bolivar, OH 44612. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. with Father Tomas Carvajal as Celebrant. Following the Mass, Linda will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
Linda C. Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
