Linda K. Simmers
Age 62, of Berlin, OH passed away Saturday September 13, 2014 in the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, Justin T. Rogers Care Center. She was born October 2, 1951 in Canton to Carl H. and Josephine (Barker) Welker. Linda was a 1969 graduate of Canton South High School and a Berlin resident for the past 10 years. She retired from the American Red Cross after 15 years of service and 43 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Linda was a friend to all and she never met a stranger. She is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Welker in 1974. Linda is survived by two sisters, Barbara Jo Welker of Garner, NC, Cheryl A. Deibel and her fiancé, Alton Walker of Terry, MS; her father, Carl H. Welker of Terry, MS; her companion, Gregg Hillyer of Berlin; one niece, Jennifer Deibel; great-nephew, Nicholas Brown; great-niece, Marissa Brown; and her beloved dog, Rosie. In keeping with Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services.
