Lillie J. "Dolly" Horning, age 82, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died Tuesday September 13, 2005 in Sentara Bayside Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA. She was born August 9, 1923 in Carrollton, OH, to the late John and Mary (Wenner) Long. She was a resident of Virginia Beach, VA, since 1991, prior to which she had resided in East Canton. A graduate of Carrollton High School and Aultman School of Nursing. Dolly retired as a school nurse after 33 years of service, having worked at many of the school systems throughout the Canton area. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Horning in 1990; one brother, Curtis M. Long. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sandra Horning of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Aaron, Benjamin and Jessica Horning all of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald R. and Vonda Long of Homeworth, OH; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Saturday September 17, 2005 at 10:00am in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens with Ralph Norman officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made the charity of your choice. The Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton is handling arrangements.
