Lila M. Brothers
Age 87, of Canton died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in Manor Care Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born March 4, 1923 in Canton to the late Clyde E. and Clara M. (Bradley) McFarren. She was a life resident of Canton and a 1941 graduate of Canton Township High School. Lila served as a Rosie the Riveter at Union Metal during WWII and retired from Harter/Society Bank. She was an 80 year member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as financial secretary for many years. She was also member of Canton South AARP and former member of Canton Township Fire Department Auxiliary. Preceded in death by one brother, Jack McFarren; two sisters, Lois James and Joyce Brooks. Survived by her husband of 68 years, Frank M. Brothers; one daughter and her best friend, Claudia Brothers and David Corsi; one son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Donna Brothers; one grandson and spouse, Matthew and Emma Brothers. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at 11:00 am in Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3828 Cleveland Ave S., Canton, OH. 44707 with Rev. Denise Nickodemus officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
