Lester R. Krider
Lester R. Krider, age 78, of East Canton, passed away Monday April 14, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born January 14, 1930 in Mapleton, OH, to the late H. Edward and Grace (Rarric) Krider. Lester was a life resident of the Mapleton area where he was raised on the family farm and enjoyed farming throughout his life. He was a 1948 graduate of East Canton High School and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He retired from R.E. Slutz Trucking in 1990 after 32 years of service and was a member of the Teamsters Local #92 and the American Legion. He had attended the Mapleton Lutheran Church for many years. Lester coached Hot Stove and Little League Baseball for many years and was an avid sports fan both locally and state wide. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Russell Krider; two sisters, Blanche Beatty and Ruth Reed; one niece, Connie Krider. He is survived by his wife, Doris A. (Sickafoose) to whom he was married 52 years; three children, Alan and his wife, Marilyn Krider of East Canton, Doug Krider of Louisville, Linda Krider of East Rochester, OH; three grandchildren, Ashley (Mitch) Sierzant of East Canton, Nannette (John) Stevens of Salineville, OH, Shellie Shuck of Massillon; four great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Freda Krider, Carl and Darlene Krider all of East Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday April 17, 2008 at 10:00am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Lord officiating. Interment in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Christ Memorial Church at P.O.
