Leona K. Davis Schenck
Age 90, passed away Thursday August 2, 2012 in Legends Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born November 11, 1921 in Massillon, OH to the late Ernest and Mary (Wilhiem) Jacobs. Leona was a Canton and North Carolina resident most of her life. She was a 1938 graduate of Washington High School, Massillon, retired from Canton Local Schools in 1976 as manager of food services. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Davis in 1974 to whom she was married 34 years; second husband, Paul Schenck in 2005 to whom she was married 29 years; one daughter, Linda Giffen. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Terri Davis of Navarre, Donald and Linda Davis of Cuyahoga Falls; one step-daughter, Catherine Schenck and Ian Chappel of Edison, NJ; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday August 6, 2012 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. The procession will form at the church and interment will be in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-4pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 70 West Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
