Lawrence J. "Bud" Levengood, age 89, of Louisville died Thursday, August 23, 2007 in his home following a brief illness. Born December 15, 1917 in Stark County, OH. to the late Charles and Elva Mae (Kerstetter) Levengood. He was a life resident of the Canton and Louisville area, a 1936 graduate of McKinley High School, attended Bryan College in Dayton, TN. and was a WWII Navy Veteran. Bud was the owner/operator of Levengood's Services for 26 years and retired from Coen Oil in 1987. Member of the Canton Baptist Temple since 1953 where he served as an usher for 45 years, greeter for the Ambassador Class and a Deacon on several occasions. Member of the Belden Village Men's Prayer Breakfast. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Tennessee Mountain Mission Ministries, a non-denominational Christian youth camp. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rebecca Levengood in 2006; one brother, Charles Levengood. Survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Elaine Karen Levengood of Denver, CO; Kay Ann and William Fluharty of Cincinnati; Nancy Jane Levengood of Gainesville, FL; two grandchildren, Meghan and Lyndsay Fluharty. The family would like to thank Dr. Dening and the Aultman Hospice Program for their sincere and compassionate care. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Canton Baptist Temple with Rev. David Harmon and Rev. Delany Young officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church (10 - 11 am). Memorial donations may be made to the T.M.M. Ministries Cumberland Springs Bible Camp, P.O. Box 455, Dayton, TN. 37321.
