Lawrence Gorman
Lawrence Gorman, age 87, of San Antonio, TX. formerly of East Canton, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 in Christus VNA Hospice Care, San Antonio, TX. with his family by his side following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH. on December 23, 1919 to the late Frank and Ida (Lawrence) Gorman. He was a Canton/ East Canton resident most of his life and a WWII Army Air Corps veteran where he served in the European Theatre. Retired from Republic Steel with 42 years of service and formerly employed with the City of Louisville. Member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Independent Order of Foresters and life member of VFW Post #3747. Preceded in death by his wife, Aileen B. Gorman in 1995; one daughter, Barbara Gorman; one brother, Donald Gorman; one sister, Barbara Yoder. Survived by five children and spouses, Lawrence Thomas (Janet) Gorman of North Carolina, Margaret Louise Griffith of East Canton, Mary Ann (Harry) Ruthrauff of San Antonio, TX, Patricia Sue (Michael) Ricaboni of Louisville, Ronald Jay Gorman of Oberlin, OH; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two special grandchildren, Stephanie Parker and Ida Lee Gorman. Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Minister Walter Lowman officiating. Interment in Fairmont Memorial Park, Alliance, OH. Friends may call one hour prior to service on Friday from 10 - 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN. or The Center for the Intrepid, Ft. Sam Houston, TX 78234.
