Lawrence L. Brumbaugh
Age 79, of Navarre died Monday, August 20, 2012 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center following an extended illness. Born January 30, 1933 in Canton, OH. to the late Homer and Elizabeth (Shear) Brumbaugh. He was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1951 graduate of Canton South High School. Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Timken Company with 30 years and was also retired from Union Metal. He was a member of Eden Church of the Brethren. Preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Arthur Brumbaugh; two sisters, Thelma Barkley and Ruth Price; three half sisters, Grace, Mabel and Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley A. (Byrd) Brumbaugh; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Wilma Brumbaugh of Massillon, Greg and Terri Brumbaugh of Tallmadge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Rod Shaffer of Canton, Laura and Gary Dawson of Massillon; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Russell Brumbaugh, Chester and Barbara Brumbaugh all of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 am in Eden Church of the Brethren, 4437 Richville Dr. SW., Canton, OH. 44706, with Pastors Jeff Ellsworth and David Bell officiating. Interment in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to Eden church of the brethren.
