Laura L. Haynes
Age 86, of Akron died Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, Fairlawn following a brief illness. Born November 25, 1930 in Elizabeth, West Virginia to the late Jerome Pearl and Virginia Luella (Romaine) Lockhart. She was an Akron resident since 1956. Laura retired in 1985 as a medical assistant from the practice of Dr Devit Gordon. She volunteered with Summa Hospital for many years. Laura formerly served as the Ohio and National President of the Medical Assistant Association. Preceded in death by her husband, Harley Armand Haynes MD in 1986; four brothers and six sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; one step-son, Harley A. Haynes MD of Boston, MA; three step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave., Canton with Rev Delaney Young officiating. Interment in Warstler Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
