Laura Ruth Devitt

Age 92, closed her eyes on Wednesday May 9, 2018 with her family by her side and woke up in the arms of Jesus. Ruth was born November 14, 1928 in Summitville, OH to the late Alanson Brothers “A.B.”and Laura (McCaulley) Finnicum. Ruth loved to cook, bake, garden, quilting, spending time with her family and investing time in the lives of others, in the name of Jesus. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Heims, Grace Betz and Mildred Strouble; three brothers, Forrest, Charles and Olen Finnicum; her husband, Carl D. Devitt to whom she married October 17, 1948; they were blessed with five children, Mary (George) Puskarich, Dean (Patti Kaye) Devitt, Paul (Tanja) Devitt, Faith (Mike) Rice and Joyce (Lee) Martin; twelve grandchildren, Ron, Aaron, Michael, Sara, Forrest, Ashley, Brooke, Caleb, Elizabeth, Caitlyn, Laura and Jesse; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Bailey, Braden, Rylie and Braxton; many special nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be Saturday May 12, 2018 at 11:30am in Trinity Friends Church, 33937 US-30, Lisbon, OH 44432 with Rev. Dan Frost officiating.
