Kitty M. Malavite
Kitty M. Malavite, age 90, of East Sparta, died Monday February 20, 2006 in Hennis Care Center. She was born, January 24, 1916 in Shanesville, OH, to the late Ferdinand and Clara (Schutt) Deetz. Kitty was an East Sparta resident for 58 years and formerly served as an educator at Ragersville Elementary School. She received her teaching certificate from Kent State University and was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #368, Bolivar. Member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, sang with Goldenairres and was active with the United Methodist Women. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Ralph and Ivan Deetz. Survived by her husband, Nicholas Malavite to whom she was married 58 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Jerry Eibel of East Sparta; two grandchildren, Greg Eibel of East Sparta and Cara Eibel of Canton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Galen and Jan Deetz of Canton, Henry and Mary Lou Deetz of Dover, Clayton and Jean Deetz of Topock, AZ; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Geneva Jones of North Canton, Ruth and Harry Gerber of Walnut Creek, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 2:30pm in Otterbein United Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Raynes and Rev. Paul Gerycz officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein U.M.C. Memorial Fund at 6025 Shepler Church Ave SW, Canton, OH 44706. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
