Kenneth H. John
Age 95, of East Canton, passed away Friday February 1, 2013 in his home. He was born February 28, 1917 in Augusta Township, Carroll County to the late Hiram and Jesse (Leeper) John. Kenneth was a life resident of East Canton and a 1936 graduate of Louisville High School. He was a WWII Army veteran where he served in the A Company 15th Armored Infantry Battalion under the command of General George Patton and was awarded five Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He retired from Hercules Engines after 37 years of service and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Z. John in 2007. He is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Nancy and Larry Morris of East Canton, Susan Davis of Corpus Christi, TX, Merri A. Gensley of Bolivar; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Suzi John of West Chester, OH; six grandchildren, Susan Bernal, Teren Muchoney, Trisha Growe, Sarah Huber, David John and Missy Hengartner; seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Kenneth's extended family and many kind neighbors, Dr. Catherine Tabb, Alliance Visiting Nurses and Hospice, and his church family at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church for their wonderful care and visits. A memorial service will be Tuesday February 5, 2013 at 11:00am in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church at 108 E. Walnut St, East Canton, OH 44730 with Pastor Tim Monteith officiating. Friends may call one hour before services at the church (10-11am).
