Kenneth D. Heid

Kenneth D. Heid, age 91, of Massillon, passed away on October 09, 2024 in Aultman Hospital. He was born in North Industry, Ohio on September 7, 1933 to the late Harrold and Susie (Domer) Heid. 

Ken was a 1951 graduate of Canton South High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a licensed electrician and retired from the Timken company in 1992 after 37 years of dedicated service. Ken was a life member of the Eden Church of Brethren and served in the capacity of trustee for many years. He was a member of the Clinton Lodge #47 F&AM; Scottish Rite. Ken was also a Boy Scout Committee member for Troop #14 and Merit Badge Counselor for Troop #250. 

Ken is preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Heid; brother Clifford Heid; sisters, Doris Duncan and Mary Perry.

Those left to cherish Ken’s memories are his wife of 67 years Gladys (Byrd) Heid; son, Allen (Marcel) Heid; daughter-in-law, Cathy Heid; grandchildren, Joshua (Erin) Heid, Jason (Megan) Heid, Jonathan Heid, Samantha Heid and Mitchell (Alexa) Heid; great grandchildren, Liam, Brynley and Autumn and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be on Monday, October 14, 2024 (11:00 am.) at Eden Church of Brethren with Pastor Tom Michaels as officiant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 am -11:00 am) at the church. Ken will be laid to rest at Eden Cemetery with military honors.
