Kenneth Croston Sr.
Age 79, of Canton died Friday, September 11, 2009 in the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. Born April 25, 1930 in Philippi, WV. to the late Freeman and Mary Croston. He was a Canton area resident most of his life and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. Kenneth retired from Republic Steel in 1992 after 42 years of service. Preceded in death by one daughter, Elaine Croston; three sisters, Edith, Thelma and Madeline. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Alma Croston; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Mike Searls of Canton, Sharon Croston of Canton, Sabrina and Doug Gifford of Mt. Vernon, OH., April Maxhimer of Massillon; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Becky Croston of Dalton, OH; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Services on South Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Durwin Burtz officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm.
