Kathryn Fay Beans
Age 86, of Canton died Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Roselane Health Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born May 20, 1925 to the late William and Ida Miller. Kathryn was a life resident of Canton and a member of Eden Church of the Brethren since 1927. She was baptized on July 24, 1937 and had been the longest active member of the church. She served as the Sunday school secretary for many years. Kathryn worked with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and had also enjoyed being a foster mother for social services. Preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Vaughn and one sister, Audrey Brumbaugh. She is survived by her husband of 39 ½ years, Chester Beans; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Kirby of Canton; one daughter-in-law, Scarlet Vaughn of North Canton. Kathryn was blessed with three grandchildren, Tina Reynolds, Tara Angiulli and Scott Vaughn; three great grandchildren, Jessica, Kelsey and Jacob; one great- great granddaughter, Lilly. The family would like to give a special thanks to Roselane Heath Center and Akron General Hospice for their wonderful care give to Kathryn. Funeral services will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 am in Eden Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jeff Ellsworth officiating. Interment in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to Akron General Hospice.
