Katherine J. Hicks
Katherine J. Hicks, age 60, of East Canton, passed away unexpectedly Monday February 16, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born January 9, 1949 in Sharon, PA, to Nelson T. and Jean A. (Pickup) Sakotas. Katherine was a 1966 graduate of Louisville High School and had resided in East Canton since 1979. She was employed by Stark C & D where she truly loved her job and her fellow co-workers. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, East Canton. She is preceded in death by her father, Nelson T. Sakotas. Katherine is survived by three children and their spouses, Beau Hicks and Susan Snyder, Kerri Hicks and Michael Clark, Bryan Hicks and Tiesha Delpuppo all of East Canton; eight grandchildren, Sadie, Spencer, Ian, Luke, Gavin, Nathan, Dominic and Markie; her mother, Jean A. Sakotas of Louisville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nelson and Cindy Sakotas of Louisville, Chuck and Beth Sakotas of Moore, SC; one sister, Linda Dwyer of N. Canton; her former husband and friend, Bryant Hicks of East Canton; a special friend, CeCey Mossgrove; many other family and loving friends. Friends may call 5-8pm, Thursday February 19, 2009 in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. A memorial service will be Friday at 11 am in St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
