Karl F. Blattert Jr.

Age 89, of Louisville, passed away Friday October 21, 2022 in his home. He was born September 3, 1933 in Canton, OH to the late Karl F. Sr. and Ruth (Baker) Blattert. Karl was a 1951 graduate of Lehman High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran, prior to which he was a member of the Civil Air patrol. He retired from The Timken Company in 1994 after 40 years of service. Karl served for many years with the Nimishillen Fire Department and was a former fire chief. Karl is survived by his wife, Mary Erleen (Westfall) to whom he was married 40 years; three children, Mark Blattert, Scott (Susan) Blattert and Wendy L. Blattert-Ward; two stepchildren, Denise Floyd and Kathryn (Steve) Wacker; 7 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Britt) Blattert; one sister, Sandi Randall. Funeral services will be Tuesday October 25, 2022 at 4:00pm in St. Paul’s Community Christian Church in East Canton with Rev. Ed Dickerhoof officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour before services at the church (3-4pm). A private family burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
