Karen Sue Parsons

Karen Sue Parsons, age 84, passed away on May 29, 2024, in the comfort of her home. She was born November 13, 1938, in Elkins, West Virginia. To the late William H. and Lydia (Kisner) Knerr of Canton.

Karen worked at The Timken Company, General Electric Finance and Suarez Corp, while also applying her business savvy to manage private ventures with her husband over the years. She loved her family and was a great cook, gardener and homemaker, especially when it came to desserts and decorating. She also loved all animals, especially dogs, and together with her husband they raised many furry companions and even won some papillon dog shows. People who knew her were quick to describe her as kind and sweet. 

Karen is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Al Parsons, and brother, Richard “Dick” William Knerr. She is survived by two sisters, Sandy Hartsel and Yvonne Evans; two sons, John Parsons and Guy (Joanne Levi) Parsons; numerous nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be Thursday June 6, 2024, at 10:00 am. followed by her memorial service at 11:00 am., in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SPCA or animal charity of your choice.
