June (Harter) Sturgeon
Age 85, of Louisville, OH. went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2015. Born June 13, 1930 in East Canton, OH.to Harry and Edith (Bohlen) Harter. She was a 1948 graduate of East Canton High School where she was a majorette. June was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Louisville. She was a huge Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers fan. June enjoyed music and was a past 10 year member of the City of Flags Chorus, Sweet Adelines. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, travel, read, flowers, gardening, playing games, cards and was a long time member of a Hikers Club. June worked as a bookkeeper and volunteered time at various charities. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Herb” Sturgeon in 2004, to whom she was married 51 years; three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Donald Harter; three sisters, Dorothy Mitchell, Pauline Blanc and Dolores Sell. Survived by two children, Rev. Steve (Mary) Sturgeon of Dillon, Montana and Jo Ann Motts of Louisville; five grandchildren, Rachel, Leah and Isaac Sturgeon, Samantha and Nicole Motts. We would like to thank Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center and Great Lakes Hospice for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with her son, Rev Steve Sturgeon officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 5 – 7 pm. PLEASE, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the charity of your choice.
