Joyce A. Brooks
Joyce A. Brooks, age 86, of Canton, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 in Altercare of Navarre. Born Sept. 11, 1919 in East Sparta, OH. to the late Clyde and Clara (Wenger) McFarren. She was a Canton area resident most of her life, having also resided in Carrollton, OH. from 1961-1999. Joyce was a self-employed beautician, working from her home and retired from Carrollton Exempted Village School System in 1985, where she was a cook in the cafeteria. Member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Malvern, OH. and the Bacon Burners Camping Club. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Brooks in 1998; two daughters, Shelley Kirkpatrick in 2002, Nancy Taylor in 2003; one sister, Lois James; one brother, Jack McFarren. Survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Dan E. and Bonnie Brooks of Canton, John Carter Brooks MD of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Lila and Frank Brothers of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. A. Wallace Anderson officiating. Inurnment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin Lutheran Church of Malvern @ P.O.
