Joseph Paul Rozaieski
Age 79, also known as Joe, J.R. and Poppie, of the Canton Regency Retirement Community, and formerly of the Scranton, PA area, passed away peacefully February 18, 2011 surrounded by his four loving children, their spouses and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. and Anna (Chopak) Rozaieski; two sisters, Lorraine Borowski and Barbara A. Rozaieski who passed February 8, 2011; one brother, Eugene Rozaieski; second wife, Nancy (Stancik) Rozaieski. Joe was an E4 Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. He was retired from the FAA at the Akron/Canton Airport as a Air Traffic Control Supervisor and was formerly employed in the same capacity in Erie, PA, Toledo, OH, and Youngstown, OH. Joe was a loving father, very intelligent and highly respected by his peers. He will be forever remembered for his quick wit, empathy for his fellow man and his proficiency at cards, scrabble, his love for fishing and his lifelong interest in military aviation and aircraft. Joe is survived by four children, Jerry Rozaieski, Sheri Orlandi, Tom and Sherry Rozaieski, Chris and Randy Betz; three grandchildren, Mitchell, Alyssa and Kendal; former wife, Betty Rozaieski; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society at 5100 Peach St NE, Louisville, OH 44641 or the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, his legacy of kindness and generosity will live forever. In keeping with Joe's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Joe's life will be Saturday February 26, 2011 at 5:00pm in the Canton Regency Retirement Community at 4507 22nd St NW, Canton, OH 44718 with Rev Dr Marvin Schooler officiating.
